Poseidon is one of the Greek Deities. His main domain is the ocean, and he is called the “God of the Sea”. He was the brother of Zeus and Hades. According to some folklore, he was saved by his mother Rhea, who concealed him among a flock of lambs and pretended to have given birth to a colt, which was devoured by Cronos. He felt the death of his brothers and moved against the goddesses. He was not able to save anyone on the mainland but all of the islands of the Mediterranean are under his protection. How safe they realy are is questionable because he went mad with the death of his brothers. He has become more chaotic. Offering great aid and healing to some then cursing others with madness. He forbade any woman to sail on the ocean and has destroyed several ships with women on board. He has tried to save all of Zeus’s offspring. He has a personal interest in Hercules and Perseus but was not able to save king Minos from Hera. He holds fish and seaweed sacred. His chosen weapon is a spear – specifically a trident of great power that if plunged into the sea could cause great storms or tidal waves. If it struck the land would cause huge earthquakes or would cause a volcano to erupt.
