Hera is one of the Greek Deities. She was the wife of Zeus in the Greek pantheon. Her chief function was as the goddess of women and marriage. Her counterpart in the religion of Rome was Juno. The peacock and pomegranate are considered sacred to her. Hera’s mother is Rhea and her father Cronus. One fate filled day she found Zues with another woman. She took Zues’s lighting bolt and killed him with his own symbol of power. She then consulted Artemis and Athena. They all became convinced that the male Deities are the root of evil and discord in the world. The other goddesses followed suite. Her chosen weapon is the long sword.
